PROGRAMS
In June, Laura Fesser will be demonstrating how to use stencils with our artwork during the June meeting. We will be starting the demo before our business meeting so please be prompt.
For our July meeting we will be having five of our own talented artists give a critique.
They will divide the number of paintings between them and each will take several. It should be a fun evening. Please bring along a piece of your work for this event.
CHALLENGES
June design for our 50 year Anniversary. We will have a contest but not this month. This will be our June challenge, but you can bring your design in the next several months. We are looking for volunteers to form a committee to plan our 50th year events. The design will most likely be for T-shirts we can purchase.
Our July challenge will be to take some of the knowledge we gleaned from our June meeting and incorporate stencils into our artwork.
Our August challenge will be to use waves, such as ocean waves, as the main subject matter of our work. Take waterfront photos or park yourself at the edge of the water with paints and canvas this summer and see what you can come up with.
From the Treasurer
I asked Margaret to send you the attached current Member List, which has the addition of our new member Cindy Wysocki's information. Also attached is the May Treasurer's Report. I will miss the June meeting as I'll be in Dallas y'all.

From the President
Hello fellow members of WCAL. In my last message, I mentioned that it was the time of year for art festivals, craft fairs and plein-air events. Which got me thinking, why don't we get together for some outdoor art. Who would be interested to meet for some plein-air? I was thinking we could pick a Saturday or Sunday and meet at Frame park. Bring your beverage of choice and a lunch along with your art materials. I would love to get to know everyone better and to talk about art. If enough people are interested, we will finalize the time and meeting place. Feel free to text or email me with your responses, ideas and any concerns.
