Meeting Minutes

Meeting brought to order at 6:30.

The meeting started out with a few announcements:

Members’ Show: Artwork drop-off is Tuesday, November 26th from 10-12p.m. and artwork pick-up is Tuesday, January 13th from 10-12p.m.

WRAP Show: Registration is due March 28th, artwork drop-off is April 5th 11-1p.m. and workshop and artwork pick-up is May 17th 9-1p.m. The WRAP chair also let everyone know about a call for art opportunity at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center.

Brookfield Library: Looking for artists for January and February 2025.

Programs: The program chair had asked the WCAL group about past programs and surveyed what the group liked and did not like, as well as ideas for next year.

Website: Website is being updated.

Publicity: There was an idea to do a contest on our Facebook page and that will be implemented in the future.

After the announcements, the group reinstated some board members with some new board members being added for 2025.

After that, the group participated in a white elephant type art exchange and the challenges were shown after.

The challenge for March was presented: Copy the work of a Master. This could be someone you want to learn from in copying their work, or this can be loosely interpreted. It was also asked that a value photo be taken of this challenge and presented with the work in March. A value photo is just a black and white photo of your artwork.
